FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How often do you come by?

That's entirely up to you. We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly service for regular commercial accounts, plus bi-monthly and quarterly options for larger jobs or lower-traffic properties. Most of the restaurants, medical offices, and storefronts we serve across Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties choose weekly or bi-weekly visits — high-visibility glass on a busy street or a customer-facing entrance shows dirt and streaks fast, so more frequent cleaning keeps first impressions consistent. Properties with less foot traffic, interior offices, or a smaller glass footprint often do fine on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule instead. When we do a free estimate, we'll walk your property with you and recommend a frequency based on what we actually see — glass exposure, nearby construction or landscaping dust, sprinkler overspray, and how much the windows matter to your customers' first impression — rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.

How do I pay for my service?

We accept Cash, Check, Credit Card, or Zelle — whichever is easiest for your business. Most of our commercial clients set up a recurring schedule with us, so we invoice consistently after each visit rather than asking you to remember or chase down payment. Credit card and Zelle are the fastest options if you want a paperless process with a clear digital record for your books; check and cash remain available for businesses that prefer to keep things simple or need a physical receipt trail for accounting. We don't lock you into a single payment method for the life of the account — if what works for your office changes, just let your technician or our office know and we'll update it. Since Greenlight Services has served Houston-area businesses since 1994, we've built our billing around what actually works for busy commercial accounts, not the other way around.

Must I sign a contract?

No — our service is month-to-month, with no long-term contract required. You can request to cancel at any time, with one practical exception: if we've already arrived for a scheduled visit, that visit goes forward as planned, and cancellation takes effect starting with the next one. We built it this way deliberately. A window cleaning company that has to lock customers into a year-long agreement to keep their business usually isn't confident the work will speak for itself — we'd rather earn a monthly recurring relationship by actually showing up and doing a clean, reliable job every time. That's also easier for you: if your needs change, a location closes, or you just want to try us out first, there's no early-termination fee or contract to unwind. Since 1994 we've kept over 1,100 Houston-area businesses on a month-to-month basis, which is the track record we'd rather point to than a signature on a contract.

Are you properly insured?

Yes, most definitely. Greenlight Services carries general liability insurance, and every technician on our crews is covered by workers' compensation. That matters more than it might seem for a service that puts people and equipment up against your building's exterior glass, ledges, and storefront areas during business hours: if anything unexpected happens on-site, you as the property owner or manager aren't the one left exposed. It's also part of why over 1,100 Houston-area businesses — restaurants, medical offices, retail storefronts — trust us with recurring service rather than a one-off crew found online. We can provide proof of insurance on request, which many of our commercial clients ask for as a standard step before adding a new vendor to their property, especially in multi-tenant buildings or corporate offices with their own vendor-compliance requirements. If your property management company needs documentation on file, just let us know when you request your free estimate.

What happens on rainy days?

Rain doesn't usually disrupt our service, and most of our clients never notice a difference — a light rain typically doesn't leave meaningful spotting on properly cleaned glass. If your windows do end up visibly spotted from rain on the same day we clean, we'll come back out and re-clean the exteriors at no additional charge — you don't pay twice because of weather we don't control. For scheduling purposes, we do monitor forecasts across our Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery county service area and may reschedule ahead of genuinely heavy storms rather than sending a crew out in conditions that would make the visit pointless. If that happens, we'll always get in touch to set a new date rather than just skipping your service. The short version: light rain is a non-issue, we stand behind the result if it isn't, and we only reschedule for weather that would actually compromise the job.

What if I have film tint on my windows?

We clean around and over existing window film the same as regular glass, but we're not responsible for any nicks, cuts, scratches, bubbling, or other damage to the film itself during service. Window film is a separate installed product with its own adhesive and surface, and standard glass-cleaning tools and techniques aren't designed for it the way they're designed for bare glass — aggressive scraping in particular can lift or damage tint that's otherwise perfectly fine. If your property has tinted windows, it helps to let us know before your first visit so our technicians know to treat those panes with extra care and skip anything that could risk the film. If you already have any damaged, bubbling, or peeling tint before we arrive, flagging it up front also protects you — it gives us a clear record of the window's condition going into the visit.

What if I have blinds on my windows?

We'll clean behind them — having blinds doesn't mean skipping the glass they're covering. Our technicians will move or open blinds as needed to reach the full window during a visit. That said, we're not responsible for any damage to the blinds themselves; they're a separate fixture with their own hardware, and handling them isn't something we can fully control the condition of ahead of time, especially with older or already-worn mechanisms. If you have delicate, antique, or already-damaged blinds you'd rather we not handle at all, just tell us before the visit and we'll clean only the accessible glass and leave those windows' blinds untouched. For most commercial properties — offices, storefronts, restaurants — this isn't a common issue, since blinds are less frequent on street-facing commercial glass than on residential windows, but we treat every property's fixtures with the same care regardless.
